For schools and SENCOs
Helping your pupils get support before Year 7.
For SENCOs (special educational needs coordinators) and head teachers in North London with a Year 6 pupil they are worried about and a waiting list they cannot shorten.
Robur.Connect is a two-year programme, from Year 6 to the end of Year 8. It is designed to bring a pupil an ADHD assessment and the support that follows it, at no cost to the school or the family.

What we ask, and what your pupil gets.
What we ask of your school
- Tell us about a Year 6 pupil you are worried about, and talk to the family with us. You never have to give the child’s name when you first get in touch.
- Sign a data sharing agreement with us before anything starts.
- Complete the school's part of the assessment questionnaires. We walk you through them.
- Complete a short questionnaire about the pupil (the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, or SDQ) at the start, the end of Year 7 and the end of Year 8.
- Build the support plan with us under the graduated approach (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) in the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
We hold no statutory function. Safeguarding decisions stay with your school’s designated safeguarding lead (DSL).
What the programme is designed to give your pupil
- An ADHD assessment arranged by us and designed to be carried out by a specialist, as the NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guideline on ADHD says it should be.
- Twelve sessions of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) with an external BABCP accredited therapist, matched to the pupil.
- Mentoring visits every two weeks in term time (weekly where funding allows) from our mentor, a qualified Level 4 therapeutic counsellor with lived experience. The visits look after the pupil’s wellbeing too.
- Two nature trips, in the school holidays only. Never in school time.
- A check-in with the school every half term.
- A support plan in place for the move to Year 7.
- A written handover pack for the secondary SENCO at the end of Year 8.
What we do not do
We do not deliver assessments or CBT. We do not replace the SENCO, the pastoral team or CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health services). We do not issue education, health and care (EHC) plans, and we do not prescribe. We are the coordination that sits around those services.
